Description
Protection from sun damage includes the use of sunscreen during periods of increased exposure. Sunscreens contain UV filters that absorb and neutralize or reflect harmful wavelengths of UV radiation; however, many people still experience sunburn, which can be painful and very uncomfortable on the skin.
A product containing Aloe Vera will immediately reduce discomfort, accelerate skin healing, and minimize the tendency for skin to peel during the healing process. Aloe Vera is recognized as a valuable medicinal plant for helping with burns. Extensive studies have described its anti-inflammatory effect, wound healing, and the like. The regenerating effect of Aloe has a great influence on the efficiency of cell division. Aloe Vera acts at the cellular level; the rich, nutritious composition of the pulp stimulates skin microcirculation. Vitamins, minerals, free amino acids, and biostimulants are distributed more effectively into skin tissues through capillary circulation. It stimulates the synthesis of fibroblasts – cells that produce collagen and elastin. The skin consists of 72% collagen fibers, and the spaces between the collagen fibers are filled with the resulting mucopolysaccharides, and Aloe Vera contains mucopolysaccharides.
Aloe Vera is a traditional anti-inflammatory herb that is also used for burns caused by jellyfish stings, insects, and the like, because it soothes and cools inflamed/burned skin, as well as itching.
It is recommended to use it in combination with various hydrolates, in gels with xanthan, as well as classic emulsion systems. One should only be careful when making gels with certain polymers, due to the high mineral content.
