  • It acts as an auxiliary emulsifier in skin creams and lotions.
  • It is especially effective as a conditioner in hair care products.
  • Improves combability, manageability and volume of hair.
  • In shampoos, it increases the viscosity of the formula.

Application

Acids must be added to cosmetic products to ensure neutralization.

  • Amount of acid required to neutralize 1.0 g of emulsifier (pH 3.5 – 4.5):
  • Citric acid, anhydrous, 100% – 0.17 g
  • Lactic acid, 88% – 0.27 g
