Acids must be added to cosmetic products to ensure neutralization.
- Amount of acid required to neutralize 1.0 g of emulsifier (pH 3.5 – 4.5):
- Citric acid, anhydrous, 100% – 0.17 g
- Lactic acid, 88% – 0.27 g
