Description
Inches: Beeswax
Recommended concentration: 0.5 -30 %
Beeswax is generally known as white wax (Cera Alba) or yellow wax (Cera Flava), depending on the degree of refinement of the product. Bees secrete the base of this raw material during the honeycomb construction process. Raw beeswax is obtained by melting and filtering the honeycomb, which then yields pure wax.
Beeswax contains free acids, esters and other natural components, which give special characteristics to the wax product, such as emulsifying properties, plasticity, compatibility with other natural products and a pleasant feel on the skin. These properties make beeswax a highly valued product for cosmetic formulations, such as face and body creams. Other uses include candles, textile products and shoe and furniture polishes.
Cera flava is a high-quality beeswax, refined by a filtration process with activated earth, where impurities and residual water are removed, without a bleaching process. Like all natural beeswax, this product contains myricyl palmitate as the main ingredient.
Application:
- Cosmetics (lipsticks) – due to its ability to absorb oil, it improves the melting point of the product.
- Cosmetics (“cold” creams) – provides consistency and emollient, prevents dehydration and maintains skin smoothness
- Candles – very effective as a scent retention agent, improves the contraction index and provides opacity for better product appearance.
