Recommended concentration: 3-5% with the addition of % salt NaCl (2%), MgSO4 (0.8%)
APPLICATION:
- Intensive hydration creams
- Creams for sensitive skin, night creams, milks and body lotions
- After-sun care products, waterproof creams
- Baby care products
ECOMULS 2 IN 1 is 100% plant-based, GMO-free, based on natural glycerides and olive oil. These active ingredients ensure ECOMULS 2 IN 1’s high emulsifying effect and exceptional hydration. Very environmentally friendly, this non-ionic emulsifier can create stable W/O emulsions of low concentration, without co-emulsifiers and thickeners.
The main parameters control stable emulsification performance:
- Composition of the oil phase
- % oil phase
- Addition and % of salt, used: NaCl (2%), MgSO4 (0.8%)
- % emulsifier (from 3 to 5%)
- Process: high-speed mixing (hot process) + final homogenization
How to work with ECOMULS 2 In 1?
Hot process:
- The salt is added to the aqueous phase at room temperature.
- Ecomuls 2 in 1 is added to the oil phase at room temperature.
- Heat the two phases separately to 70°C.
- At room temperature, add the water phase slowly to the oil phase while mixing at high speed using a standard mixer propeller.
- Once you have an emulsion, homogenize it.
- Cool to room temperature while stirring slowly.
- Add the sensitive phase (active substances, perfumes, preservatives, etc.) below 40°C.
- At the end of the process, homogenize again.
- The main parameters that control stable emulsification performance (hot process):
Adding salt to the aqueous phase: MgSO4.7H2O (0.8%) or NaCl (2%)
- % emulsifier – from 3% to 5%
- Composition of the oil phase: excellent affinity with plant emollients (vegetable oils, etc.)
- Recommended % oil phase: 15% (higher final viscosity) to 35% (lower final viscosity).
- Homogenization at the end of the process
