Description

Nicotinamide contains one of the two forms of vitamin B, niacin. As an essential component of living cells, Vitamin B3 is necessary for the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Nicotinamine is a precursor in the synthesis of pyridine coenzymes NAD and NADP involved in cell metabolism and as such they play a key role in energy production.

Vitamin B3, in the form of nicotinamine, is one of the most widely studied topical skin care ingredients. Numerous peer-reviewed studies have revealed numerous skin benefits, including clinically proven efficacy in skin brightening, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, as a soothing component, as well as strengthening the skin barrier and rebalancing the skin microbiota.
