Description

Peelmoist, molecular film is a chemical exfoliator and humectant that provides the skin with an optimal concentration of papain, a proteolytic enzyme that selectively breaks down bonds between damaged or dead cells. It also provides improved skin hydration and preserves the natural barrier function of the epidermis.

Corneodesmosomes are modified desmosomes that are present in the stratum corneum, the outer layer of the epidermis, and are key to the cohesion of the stratum corneum and thus form one of the key elements of the functional protection of the human skin barrier. The process of breaking down the corneodesmosomes is altered if a dermatological disease has occurred that has led to a disruption of the permeable barrier or to an abnormal, often compensatory, accumulation of the stratum corneum. Using the Peelmoist molecular film, there is a selective breakdown of the bonds between them, resulting in the removal of damaged or dead cells.
