Description
Cold-pressed tamanu oil, also known as “green gold”, is obtained from the seeds of a tropical tree that grows on the South Pacific islands (Polynesia), but is also found in Southeast Asia, India, and parts of Africa and Australia. Tamanu oil has been used for centuries to soothe the skin and fight various skin infections, even for diaper rash and other skin problems in babies. Research has shown that tamanu oil contains calophyllolide and delta-tocotrienol, which is an anti-inflammatory component and form of vitamin E, as well as a number of antioxidants. This oil is thick and rich and absorbs deeply into the skin and moisturizes it, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines. Tamanu oil also has proven antimicrobial properties and soothes the skin, reducing redness, scars, and stretch marks. It helps eliminate the feeling of dryness, irritation, itching and flaking of the skin, as well as hyperpigmentation.
Tamanu oil is an excellent ingredient in hair care formulations, it acts similarly to castor oil and gives the hair a nicer texture and removes inflammatory and fungal infections.
Inci: Calophyllum Inophyllum (Tamanu) Oil
