Activity

When sebum secretion is increased, the skin becomes shiny, and make-up breaks down faster and stays on the skin less. GREENSIL acts as a natural mattifying ingredient that absorbs excess oil and leaves the skin visually more even and less shiny. When sweating increases, it helps absorb moisture and reduce the unpleasant feeling of stickiness. Due to its ability to absorb sweat and oily components, it can also be useful in the formulations of deodorants, foot products and body powders.

Proven effectiveness

According to the manufacturer, GREENSIL can absorb up to 200% of its own weight of artificial sebum. In tests, it has shown very good potential in sebum absorption compared to kaolin, zinc oxide and talc. In in vivo tests, the combination of 5% GREENSIL and 5% antiperspirant complex showed a better effect compared to aluminum salts after 4 hours and 24 hours. A 40% reduction in unpleasant odor was also recorded after 4 hours.

It can be added to cold preparations and emulsions, and according to the manufacturer’s information, it can also be heated. In gels, it can give a white color and opacity, so it is necessary to take into account the impact on the final appearance of the product.

Note for formulation

GREENSIL gives a white color and can make gels opaque. For formulations containing electrolytes, it is recommended to use gelators resistant to electrolytes. In its pure form, it can be irritating to the eyes, while according to the manufacturer, it showed very good compatibility with the skin.
