Polyfix ZRC 25 GP
Effective neutralization of unpleasant odors based on zinc ricinoleate, without the need to mask odors.
Recommended concentration: 1–5%
Polyfix ZRC is an innovative deodorizing complex based on Zinc Ricinoleate, developed to effectively bind and neutralize molecules responsible for the formation of unpleasant odors. Unlike classic deodorant ingredients that try to mask unpleasant odors with perfume compositions, Polyfix ZRC acts directly on odor molecules, creating stable chemical complexes with them. Its uniqueness lies in its ability to bind various compounds responsible for unpleasant odors, including sulfur compounds, amines, ammonia and certain organic acids.
Thanks to its formulation, Polyfix ZRC enables simpler application of zinc ricinoleate in aqueous cosmetic systems, without the need for complex dissolution and heating procedures.

Description
How does it work?
- Chemical binding of odor molecules
Zinc ricinoleate has the ability to form stable complexes with certain odor molecules. In this way, it reduces their volatility and the possibility of their release into the surrounding air. It is particularly effective in binding certain amines, mercaptans, hydrogen sulfide, organic acids, ammonia and thioesters.
- Neutralization instead of concealment
Polyfix ZRC does not require the presence of perfume to achieve its basic deodorizing function. Instead of masking the unpleasant smell, it acts on the molecules that cause it. This enables the development of products without added fragrances, as well as products in which the perfume composition has the sole role of creating a pleasant olfactory experience.
- Stable binding of odor molecules
According to the manufacturer, the complexes formed by the binding of molecules of unpleasant odors remain stable even at elevated temperatures. This characteristic is particularly interesting for products intended for daily use and formulations exposed to temperature changes.
- Compatibility with perfume compositions
Polyfix ZRC is compatible with most perfume compositions. This allows it to neutralize unpleasant odors without significantly disrupting the desired scent profile of the product.

Recommendations for formulation
Polyfix ZRC has been specially developed to facilitate the use of zinc ricinoleate in cosmetic formulations. It can be processed using a cold process, which allows the product to be manufactured without additional heating of the raw material. It is best suited for aqueous formulations, while formulations with hydrophobic ingredients or cationic components may require additional stabilization.
Interesting fact – why zinc ricinoleate?
Zinc ricinoleate is obtained from ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid characteristic of castor oil. Its ability to chemically bind certain molecules of unpleasant odors makes it a particularly interesting ingredient in the development of modern deodorants. Unlike antiperspirants, whose function is to reduce sweat secretion, zinc ricinoleate acts on the molecules of unpleasant odors, and not on the sweating process itself. This allows the development of deodorants that aim to control odor without the need to block sweat secretion.
