St. John’s wort oil / Macerated in sunflower oil

St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum L) oil macerate is probably one of the most well-known macerates, and therefore the most widely used. It has an anti-inflammatory effect on various skin problems, superficial skin damage, and healing of wounds and burns.

It is an indispensable ingredient in the production of tonics and gels for rheumatic complaints and muscle pain. Due to its anti-inflammatory effect, it is used in the production of creams and gels for hemorrhoids and in the production of pessaries.

St. John's wort is mildly phototoxic, which means that it can damage the skin when exposed to UV rays, so it is wiser to use it after sunbathing.
