Biotechnological active for activation of thermogenesis, "browning" of adipocytes and remodeling of the silhouette
INCI: Water (and) Glycerin (and) Tisochrysis Lutea Extract
Recommended concentration: 1 – 3 %
LIPOUT™ is a biotechnological active obtained from the microalgae Tisochrysislutea , a single-celled microalgae rich in:
- xanthophylls
- polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA)
- bioactive lipids.
Microalgae are grown in closed photobioreactors under controlled conditions to produce a standardized active with optimized metabolite and pigment content with minimal environmental impact.
LIPOUT™ was developed for:
- body sculpting formulations
- anti-cellulite products
- silhouette remodeling products
- formulations that affect subcutaneous fat tissue and skin quality.

Description
KEY CONCEPT — “BROWNING” OF Adipocytes
Traditionally, it was thought that there were two types of adipocytes:
- white adipocytes
- brown adipocytes.
Today it is known that there is a third type:
beige adipocytes
These are metabolically active cells that can switch from an inactive form that stores fat
into an active form that burns fatty acids through thermogenesis.
The process of their activation is called browning
During the browning process:
- adipocytes increase the number of mitochondria
- UCP1 protein expression increases
- thermogenesis is activated
- β-oxidation of fatty acids increases
- There is increased energy consumption and lipid burning.
ACTION AND MECHANISM
- Activation of the browning process
LIPOUT™ induces the transformation of adipocytes from “fat-storing” cells to “fat-burning” metabolically active beige adipocytes. It achieves this by stimulating the thermogenetic metabolic pathway and mitochondrial activity.
- Activation of thermogenesis
Thermogenesis is a metabolic process during which adipocytes:
- burns fatty acids
- increase cellular respiration
- they produce heat and energy.
LIPOUT™:
- activates thermogenesis
- increases cellular respiration
- increases metabolic activity of adipocytes
- stimulates the consumption of lipids stored in adipocytes.
Thermography during clinical studies showed an increase in skin temperature and activation of thermogenetic activity in the subcutaneous tissue.
MAIN ACTIVE COMPOUNDS
Xanthophylls
Tisochrysis lutea is rich in xanthophylls such as fucoxanthin, diatoxanthin, and diadinoxanthin.
These compounds are associated with:
- by regulating lipid metabolism
- by activating thermogenesis
- antioxidant effect
- metabolic activation of adipocytes.
Cellulite reduction
LIPOUT™:
- reduces the length of the dermis-hypodermis junction
- reduces skin roughness
- smoothes the appearance of the skin
Improving skin biomechanics
Studies have shown:
- increasing skin elasticity
- increasing skin firmness
- improving skin tone
- improving the surface and deep structure of the skin.
APPLICATION IN COSMETICS
LIPOUT™ is particularly interesting in:
- anti-cellulite formulations
- body sculpting products
- thermoactive gels
- fitness body care concepts
- silhouette remodeling products
- massage formulations
- products for skin tone and firmness.
